Decolonizing Wealth: Indigenous Wisdom to Heal Divides and Restore Balance – A Conversation with Edgar Villanueva
Edgar Villanueva is the author of "Decolonizing Wealth", and a globally recognized expert on social justice philanthropy. Edgar serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of Native Americans in Philanthropy, NDN Collective, Mother Jones and is a Board Member of the Andrus Family Fund, a national foundation that works to improve outcomes for vulnerable youth. Edgar currently serves as Senior Vice President at the Schott Foundation for Public Education where he oversees grant investment and capacity building supports for education justice campaigns across the United States. In addition to working in philanthropy for many years, he has consulted with numerous nonprofit organizations and national and global philanthropies on advancing racial equity inside of their institutions and through their investment strategies.

Conversation during the event will be moderated by Sharina Sallis, Community Relations Manager at CUNA Mutual Group. Participants will be able to ask questions via the virtual platform and will then have an opportunity to discuss Villanueva’s remarks and his book in small groups with their peers.
